AFAS Profit combines financial administration, HR, payroll, CRM and order processing in a single Dutch suite, known for standardisation: you configure it, you do not code it.

That same standardisation stops at the warehouse door. AFAS registers the order and the invoice; it does not direct an operator to a location, verify a barcode, or manage batches and expiry dates on a rack.

CONNECTORS, NOT A BACK DOOR

Everything runs over connectors you define in your own AFAS environment, with a token you can revoke. BizBloqs sees the fields you publish and nothing else — the scope is yours, on paper and in practice.

It also means AFAS updates do not break the interface: connectors are the route AFAS supports for this, so upgrades stay routine instead of turning into an integration project.

WHAT CHANGES ONCE AFAS AND BIZBLOQS ARE CONNECTED

The connection is a data agreement, not a development project. Orders, receipts, stock corrections and shipping confirmations move between AFAS and BizBloqs as they happen.

GetConnectors in, UpdateConnectors out

Items, purchase orders and sales orders reach BizBloqs through GetConnectors; receipts, deliveries, counts and corrections go back through UpdateConnectors. It is the interface AFAS built for this, used exactly as intended.

Field-level scope you control yourself

Because the connectors live in your environment, you decide which fields leave it. Scope changes are a connector change, visible and reversible, not a request to a supplier.

Scanned receiving, picking and shipping

Operators scan on arrival, on put-away, on pick and on pack. Each confirmed action becomes a message back into AFAS, so the administration reflects the floor within seconds instead of at the end of the shift.

Batch, serial and expiry on the floor

Batch numbers, serial numbers and expiry dates are captured at the point of handling and stay attached through picking and shipping — which is what makes a recall a query instead of an investigation.

Stock corrected during the day, not after it

Counting runs continuously with reason codes on every correction, so the stock figure in AFAS is right during the day and the annual count stops being a shutdown.

Survives AFAS updates without rework

Connectors are the supported integration route, so an AFAS update does not put your warehouse at risk. Changes to a connector definition are part of a controlled change process on both sides.

How the AFAS integration works

AFAS Profit exposes its data through connectors rather than a generic database interface, and that is exactly how BizBloqs connects: GetConnectors deliver orders and item data into the warehouse, UpdateConnectors post receipts, deliveries, counts and corrections back. It is the route AFAS itself prescribes, so the connection survives AFAS updates.

You create an app connector in AFAS Profit and issue a token for BizBloqs — no user credentials are shared and the token can be revoked from inside AFAS. Together we define the GetConnectors for items, purchase orders and sales orders, and enable the UpdateConnectors used for warehouse write-back. Because the connectors are defined in your own environment, field-level scope is yours to control: BizBloqs sees only the fields you publish.

What you need

AFAS Profit with the app connector functionality available in your licence
An AFAS consultant or key user who can create GetConnectors and issue a token
Agreement on which GetConnectors deliver items, purchase orders and sales orders
The AFAS environment number(s) that BizBloqs should synchronise

Which messages are exchanged

This is the standard interface between an ERP and a WMS, exchanged with AFAS as the events happen. Empty cells mean that direction is not part of the standard integration.

Rows marked optional depend on the modules in your AFAS licence and on how your administration is set up. Production, assembly and their time registration require the matching modules.

This is our standard integration. An empty field means that message is not exchanged in that direction by default. Integrations can be modified or extended customer-specific through workflows.

How we roll it out

1. Discovery
We walk through your AFAS administration and agree which objects are in scope and which system is leading per object.
2. Connection
The technical connection to AFAS is set up and validated against a test administration. Access is scoped to the objects in the agreed message set.
3. Mapping
Item codes, units, warehouses, locations and reason codes are mapped. Deviations between the ERP and the physical warehouse surface here, not on go-live day.
4. Test round
We run a full cycle on a test administration: purchase order in, receipt back, sales order in, delivery back, count and correction. Every message is checked in both systems.
5. Go-live
Cut over on the live administration with monitored message queues. Failed messages are visible and can be replayed — nothing disappears silently.

Integration FAQ

Who builds the GetConnectors — you or our AFAS partner?

Usually your AFAS consultant or key user, because they know your environment and field usage. We supply the exact specification of the fields we need per message, and we test each connector with you before go-live.

Is the token safe to hand over?

The token is scoped to the connectors you publish and can be revoked from inside AFAS at any moment. It gives access to the published fields only, not to your whole administration.

Will an AFAS update break the connection?

Connectors are the interface AFAS supports for exactly this purpose, so updates do not break them. Changes you make to a connector definition do affect the interface, which is why connector changes are part of our change process.

Is stock in AFAS updated in real time?

Stock in the ERP is updated on every confirmed warehouse action — receipt, delivery, count, correction. The operational truth lives in the WMS, where stock is tracked per location, batch and serial; AFAS holds the financial and administrative position.

Which system is leading for item master data?

AFAS. Items, barcodes, units and weights are created and maintained in the ERP and downloaded into BizBloqs. Warehouse-specific attributes, such as pick location or storage class, are maintained in BizBloqs.

What happens if the connection drops?

Messages are queued and replayed. Warehouse work continues in BizBloqs during an ERP or network outage; the queue drains once the connection is restored, and failed messages stay visible instead of disappearing silently.

Can we change the standard message set?

Yes. The table above is our standard integration. Extra messages, different field mappings or customer-specific rules are handled through workflows in BizBloqs — we tell you upfront what is standard and what is custom work.

How long does a AFAS implementation take?

The connection itself is a matter of days. The realistic timeline is set by mapping and testing, and by how clean your item master and location structure already are.
