Newbase is a Dutch ERP used widely in trade and technical wholesale, covering purchasing, sales, pricing and administration for companies with deep assortments and demanding delivery windows.

The article file is where the trouble usually starts: units, pack sizes and supplier codes that were never fully aligned, and a stock figure that only becomes true once a year.

UNITS THAT FINALLY ADD UP

Purchase unit, stock unit and sales unit are held separately in BizBloqs with the conversion between them, so a box received and a piece picked are the same stock position instead of two arguments.

That single decision, made explicitly during the project instead of assumed, removes a large share of the stock differences technical wholesalers live with.

The connection is a data agreement, not a development project. Orders, receipts, stock corrections and shipping confirmations move between Newbase and BizBloqs as they happen.

Purchase, stock and sales units reconciled

Units and pack sizes are mapped explicitly at the start of the project, so a purchase in boxes, stock in pieces and a sale per metre stay one consistent position across Newbase and BizBloqs.

Receiving checked against the Newbase order

Receiving is checked against the open Newbase purchase order at the dock, with quantities and supplier deviations flagged immediately rather than discovered when a customer order comes up short.

Location control for slow and fast movers

Fast movers sit where the walking is shortest and slow movers do not block prime space. BizBloqs manages the locations; Newbase does not need to know the layout.

Counting during the day, not once a year

Cycle counting runs continuously with reason codes, which turns the annual count into a formality and gives purchasing a stock figure they can order against.

Delivery confirmations back within seconds

The delivery confirmation flows straight back to Newbase, so invoicing follows the shipment automatically and customer service can see status without walking to the warehouse.

How the Newbase integration works

Newbase is widely used by Dutch technical wholesalers, where article files are large, units of measure are messy and orders have to leave the same day. BizBloqs connects to Newbase over its integration interface and takes the warehouse side: receiving, put-away, scanned picking, packing and counting, with confirmations flowing straight back.

Items, purchase orders and sales orders come down from Newbase; receipts, deliveries, counts and corrections go back up. Unit conversions get particular attention in technical wholesale — the same article sold per piece, per metre and per box is a common source of stock drift, so units and pack sizes are mapped explicitly during the project rather than assumed.

Which messages are exchanged

Rows marked optional depend on the modules in your Newbase licence and on how your administration is set up. Production, assembly and their time registration require the matching modules.

This is our standard integration. An empty field means that message is not exchanged in that direction by default. Integrations can be modified or extended customer-specific through workflows.

How we roll it out

1. Discovery
We walk through your Newbase administration and agree which objects are in scope and which system is leading per object.
2. Connection
The technical connection to Newbase is set up and validated against a test administration. Access is scoped to the objects in the agreed message set.
3. Mapping
Item codes, units, warehouses, locations and reason codes are mapped. Deviations between the ERP and the physical warehouse surface here, not on go-live day.
4. Test round
We run a full cycle on a test administration: purchase order in, receipt back, sales order in, delivery back, count and correction. Every message is checked in both systems.
5. Go-live
Cut over on the live administration with monitored message queues. Failed messages are visible and can be replayed — nothing disappears silently.

Integration FAQ

We sell the same article per piece and per box — can BizBloqs handle that?

Yes, and it is one of the first things we map. Purchase unit, stock unit and sales unit are held separately with the conversion between them, so a box received and a piece picked stay the same stock position.

Do we still need our Newbase stock module?

Newbase keeps the administrative and financial stock position. The operational position — per location, per batch, per serial — lives in BizBloqs and is reconciled continuously rather than during a yearly count.

Is stock in Newbase updated in real time?

Stock in the ERP is updated on every confirmed warehouse action — receipt, delivery, count, correction. The operational truth lives in the WMS, where stock is tracked per location, batch and serial; Newbase holds the financial and administrative position.

Which system is leading for item master data?

Newbase. Items, barcodes, units and weights are created and maintained in the ERP and downloaded into BizBloqs. Warehouse-specific attributes, such as pick location or storage class, are maintained in BizBloqs.

What happens if the connection drops?

Messages are queued and replayed. Warehouse work continues in BizBloqs during an ERP or network outage; the queue drains once the connection is restored, and failed messages stay visible instead of disappearing silently.

Can we change the standard message set?

Yes. The table above is our standard integration. Extra messages, different field mappings or customer-specific rules are handled through workflows in BizBloqs — we tell you upfront what is standard and what is custom work.

How long does a Newbase implementation take?

The connection itself is a matter of days. The realistic timeline is set by mapping and testing, and by how clean your item master and location structure already are.
