IMS
Inventory Management System
An Inventory Management System (IMS) tracks what stock you have, where it is, and what state it is in — across warehouses, stores, in-transit, and supplier locations. It records every movement (receipt, transfer, adjustment, sale, return) and maintains valuation for finance. An IMS answers the question 'do I have this SKU available to promise?' in real time.
An IMS is narrower than a WMS: it tracks stock but does not necessarily direct warehouse operators through pick and pack tasks. In most modern platforms the IMS is a capability of the WMS or OMS rather than a separate product.
Accurate inventory is the foundation for reliable order promising, replenishment planning, and financial reporting.
How BizBloqs relates
BizBloqs delivers IMS as part of its WMS and OMS: every scan updates inventory instantly at location and lot level, and the same live figure is exposed to every sales channel and to finance.
